infinite/God

Can we prove or disprove God's existence? Philosophers have made their amends to but is not easy. Earth has been here for billions of years which only leaves me to think God and earth are both infinite. In the Bible it says before earth there was God alone and he created earth out of pleasure. Im not really sure who talked to God and found out how he created it,that sure does puzzle me! Today we have the bible which was written only a several hundred years ago which means its relatively new to compared to how old the earth is. In class there was a good point about how most see God as a man,which really made me think hes not a him/her but a higher being than we can truly understand like the thought of infinity.
