Dr. Layne brought up the question of why we love who we love, saying that sometimes when she is asked that she is embarrassed because she cannot answer. That got me thinking - love isn't something that you can easily define. Call me a hopeless romantic, but when you saying you love someone, is different then showing you love someone. When you're in love, or you do love someone, it's something that you don't even understand yourself.
Essentially when you do love someone, you are taking a leap of faith. Love isn't something with guidelines or a strict set of rules, it's something that you feel, and something your actions display. By taking that "leap" into love, you are not only committing your feelings, but yourself. Some people may leap into love blindly, not understanding why they are moving towards this so called mythical feeling that is rarely understood.
This being said, we compared love to belief in God. Every person has their own set of beliefs. No person has the same belief of who God is, if God truly does exists, and the power of God. Seeing the correlation between the idea of God and the idea of love, it's easily understood that love is something that is personal, and something that differs from person to person.
