In this class we will ask ‘what is philosophy?’ in the hopes of defending the importance of this discipline for the individual and society. In this endeavor we shall trek through the history of philosophy while unpacking some of the major issues and problems in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, logic and politics. Furthermore we will address the perennial problems of the good life, personal identity, authenticity and social responsibility.

Feminity
This idea that women are 'less dominant' than the man started with survival of the fittest. It is a biological fact that men are stronger and faster than women. So a long time ago when civilizations were not formed yet and humans either lived by themselves or in smalll tribes men would do the hunting. The weak man would not live long in this wild era. Women were biologically made to be protected and have babies. Over time the roles of a men as "the bread-winnner" were set in stone because for a really long time men literally had to fight for food. So women were naturally dependent ono men. But as the human race progressed the roles stayed the same even though it would have been resonable to let the women work. I do not feel that being the 'less dominant' gender is much of a problem because women can be independent if they want to. Although girls are often programed at a young age to be "girly", as they get older they are also taught, hopefully, to be themselves and that they do have a choice. Women can coose to wear skirts if that is what they like or wear baggy pants if that is what they prefer. I also feel that masculinity is more of a fashion, because human sustenance is not based on how strong you are but now on how smart/educated you are. Women and men will always be objects in one way or another because we are physical beings. We are animals with logic.
