In this class we will ask ‘what is philosophy?’ in the hopes of defending the importance of this discipline for the individual and society. In this endeavor we shall trek through the history of philosophy while unpacking some of the major issues and problems in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, logic and politics. Furthermore we will address the perennial problems of the good life, personal identity, authenticity and social responsibility.

Happiness
Throughout the world people strive to seek happiness, but as said earlier in our blog happiness is different for every person depending on the qualities that they were brought up, the experiences that they have had, and the people they have known, but how does one truly know or realize when they are happier, and cant someone always achieve more happiness. When does one know when they have reached the supreme amount of happiness. If everyone has different version of happiness can others just not become as happy as someone else, and what in our body makes us happy. Is there a gene in are body that triggers happiness and comfort or is it just the feeling that mystically is stowed upon us. Either way if one finds out the true universal source of happiness, then what else would you need?
