selfishness

Throughout the course of this class one of the major topics we have continually discussed is a persons ethics or code of beliefs. One of the major debates has been whether or not a person does the right thing because they truly want, or out of fear of repercussions. We mentioned the concept of a ring that would allow for someone to become invisible, and there would be no knowledge of their actions. Now anyone who came across a ring such as this one would inevitably not be able to resist the ability to indulge in all of their fantasies, I know that i couldn't, but I believe that their are some people who would. A small percentage of people, whether someone is watching or not believe that all of their actions are being watched by a greater figure, whoever that greater figure might be, and they believe that their "god" is all knowing. Thus whatever tool someone would give them, their actions would still be recorded in the mind of their god. Thus I believe that their a small population of people who would be able to resist something like this do to their own code of ethics.
