The Ficad of Truth

"Did you know that the word "person" comes from the Latin word "persona", which means mask? So maybe being human means we invite spectators to ponder what lies behind. Each of us will be composed of a variety of masks, and if we can see behind the mask, we would get a burst of clarity." This is a quote from the movie War Inc. that has always intrigued me. It came to mind in class when we were discussing what makes a person themselves. I am fascinated by this idea of not being able to pinpoint something that makes us who we are. I had no interest in philosophy until the first day of this class. I am positive now however that this class is going to keep me on my toes this semester and keep me thinking. I look forward to it.
