What Is Color?

I’m not a big fan of philosophy for a very ignorant reason: I don’t like things that make me think about things that I never questioned before. Like, I never thought about what color is. I’m the kind of person that is just like “red is red”. However, since philosophy is inevitably embedded in my life, then I’ll tackle a question that comes up often. When we talked about identity in Friday’s class, it made me think about a question that was asked in a diversity group in my high school. What is being black? I’m often called “white” for the way I talk and the music I listen to. If people ask me if I identify as black, well, officially yes. When I fill out official forms, I tick off the “African-American” box. However, when I’m asked face to face, I just tell people I identify as a Kristin!
